Ediie"s Birthday

The birthday boy celebrated his big day with two celebrations. Of course, he is infamous for wanting to celebrate ALL month long. I don't know where he gets that idea, maybe its from being a December baby?! With all the holiday activity and other family birthdays, December is really one big party for us! Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

More Hospital Pics...

Ethan and Logan just LOVE their new baby sister and they were so sweet when they got to meet her for the first time. We had three names in the running when we were choosing her name and Logan's 1st choice was Lauryn, so now he thinks HE named her. And Ethan was just so cute, he asked if we could keep her and take her home to our house, "please, please, please mommy?" They are both so loving and gentle with her, it is really been neat to watch both of them.
We took Lauryn home 2 days after she was born. We ended our stay with a very special person wheeling us out to the car. The woman pictured with me is the hospital's bereavement coordinator, and we met her of course when Gavin was born. She is a wonderful asset to the hospital and was so helpful to us in our time of need. Ironically, she was asked that morning to help wheel out a patient to the car, not knowing it was me. God seems to always have a way with things, a perfect time for everything. What a memorable end to our hospital stay!

Lauryn's Birth Day!!!

Our sweet little bundle of pink finally arrived early morning on November 30, 2010 at 1:03 am. Miss Lauryn Rachelle Jaffie entered this world like a Star...literally!. Without giving too much scary detail, we had a room FULL of family, nurses, OB and Neonatologist waiting for our little diva's arrival. Throughout Lauryn's 13 hour delivery, she had multiple decelerations in her heart rate while I was patiently lying in bed (in medical terms this means significant drops in the heart rate and there are several categories of decels, some NOT so good as others). It was concerning enough for my nurses and doctor that I signed consents for a C-section procedure ahead of time as soon as I was admited in case we needed to rush down the hallway. A few times the baby's heart rate dropped to 30 and "hung out" there for awhile. My awesome L&D nurses would run into my room and quickly flip me around to reposition me. There was even a little meconium to add to the mix! Needless to say, it was quite an adventure! But she did great immediately after delivery, crying right away and she checked out perfectly (and no emergent c-section required). She weighed 6lbs, 15oz, 21 inches long, and looked just like her brothers, except just with smaller petite features. A 'Total Jaffie Baby', as many friends and family later commented. What a beautiful gift God has given us again, we are so thankful and look forward to the time ahead of what "pink" will bring to our boy-world!

Halloween Weekend

We were jam-packed with actvities and parties Halloween weekend. We had two neighborhood parties, hosted Halloween for my entire family and even threw in a couple of pumpkin carvings. Here are the start of several pages highlighting the fun. Blogger seems to only let me post 4 pages at a time so I have to do this in stages. Coming soon finally...Lauryn's Birth Day and the Christmas season. I might just be caught up in a few weeks!

And more pink celebrations...

In November, my dear mom hosted a baby shower at her home for me and Baby Girl Jaffie. Our family and close friends were there to help celebrate and shower me in everything pink. Thanks to so many wonderful and generous gifts, we are set with a full wardrobe and all items needed for a girl. I feel truly blessed to have so many loving and special people in my life, God planted each and every one and I am so grateful. Thank you mom, for a very fun and delightful afternoon filled with laughter, smiles and joy!
