St. Patrick's Day

Even though we are not Irish, it is still a fun holiday to celebrate and get in the spirit. The boys wore green or something that had green in it, they made shamrock crafts at their daycares and were so proud to share them with us, and then we made a very green dinner! Logan had requested 'green eggs and ham', probably because he just got done celebrating Dr. Seuss and the Read-A-Thon at school. So I did my best, we had green eggs and bacon (what I had in the house) green muffins, and green juice...essentially breakfast for dinner! But it was tasty and the boys had fun with the green food. We are so lucky and so blessed to have these two boys in our life, Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Ragnar Relay, 2010

Here are the pages I made from the Ragnar Relay Del Sol. "What is this" you might be asking...it is a relay race made up with a team of 12 runners, 2 vans, and 2 drivers . Over 24 hours (or more in our case), the team takes turns running 3-8 mile legs, 3x each starting in Prescott, AZ to Tempe,AZ. This is approximately 202 miles. I was a little skeptical about participating in such an unusual event, BUT it was soooo much fun! We had a great group of runners, all levels and stages in their running careers. Not only did I have my crAZy Babes with me in my van (a.k.a Liz and Susie), but my sister Kari and her husband Ruben were runners as well. Our team name was The Sole Roadies and as you can see from the pictures, we decorated the vans with desert scenery, mountains, cactus, and roadrunners...MEEP,MEEP!!! While we didn't get to see much of van #1 except at the exchanges (when one van of runners was done running and the next van of runners started their legs), it was a great feeling to have knowing you were part of something bigger than just your own race. You had a team depending on you to get your miles run so they could move forward. What an experience, thanks Angela for your leadership and enthusiasm for such a unique event! I can't wait for next year!

P.S. Just for your info, there was NO drinking and running (or driving) as shown in a few photos...just for laughs!

Ethan's Pals

I took some quick pics on Valentines Day of Ethan with all his pals at Miss Kelly's house. Miss Kelly is our AWESOME and WONDERFUL sitter for Ethan when I am working. Ethan just loves to be at her house playing with his pals, and it is difficult for me to get him out of the house when it is time to go home. We feel so blessed that Ethan has a safe and loving place to go when we are working. Thank you to Miss Kelly for her hard work and taking such great care of our boy!!!

Happy Anniversary

Ten years ago today, I married my very best friend and love, Edward Jaffie. I cannot believe it has been ten years, it just doesn't seem that long. I look back at all the adventures we have had, all the memories and experiences, the ups and the downs, the laughs and the tears, and I feel so very blessed. God gave me such a gift when he planted Eddie in my life and I am thankful everyday for such a wonderful husband, friend, lover, and partner. Happy 10 Years!!!

Our newest runner!

Logan just finished his season of running club at his elementary school. These pics were from the last race. Aunty Shell even came to see Logan run! Lots of work, sweat, treats and giggles wrapped into one afternoon. He has a great time with his pals Madison and Keiren (who are also in his class) and this was his second year doing the club. He is already looking forward to next year and now wants to go running with me...I think the running bug is spreading through the family!

London's Run

This was a fun and "quick" 10K that we did out in Queen Creek, AZ in January. I say quick because when I run with my pals Tracy and Amy, they push me to run faster on these races than I usually run (but I guess that is the theory behind the word 'race' right). I truly am just having fun out there running, getting excercise and hanging out with friends with each running event and experience. Running really CAN be fun despite all the hard work that goes into it. I will be posting soon pages from the Ragnar Relay Del Sol I just did at the end of February...stay tuned!

Monster Trucks!

Logan got to attend his very first Monster Truck Show in January. It was a 'boys only' outing with Daddy, Uncle Ruben, and Papa. His cousin Jack was not be there and that would have made it the ultimate night, but they still had loads of fun. They pit passes to see all the trucks up close, had dinner at TGIF's in the stadium and then watched all the races and destruction the trucks could make. As you can see from the photos, he was one happy boy!

P.S. By the way, I requested that pictures be taken of everyone attending the event (my dad, Ruben, the boys), but since I am usually the paparrazi everywhere we go, Eddie forgot to get those type of pics. Maybe I should give him a little more practice, LOL.
But he did do an awesome job of capturing Logan's excitement and MANY trucks as they flew through the air.

More Birthday Fun...

A week before my sister Kari's birthday, several of her friends and family surprised her...all set up by her wonderful husband Ruben. He organized a very fun night out for all us ladies which included a gourmet chef who prepared, cooked, and demonstrated a full meal for all 15+. It was quite delicious! The chef even cleaned up everything, we did not have to lift a finger. What a treat and what a fun birthday celebration!
